Welcome to Akron Live Music (a)’s first artist feature!
This thursday, Akron will be graced with one of the most exciting bands I have heard in the last year: Delicate Steve. I had the fortune of discovering them by seeing them open for the spectacular Fang Island last November.
Delicate Steve plays a unique brand of life - affirming, high energy, slightly psychedelic instrumental guitar pop. Steve, the lead guitarist, blends his eclectic set of boutique effects pedals into an infectiously vocal sound that is almost sitar like. He plays his off kilter melodies with effortless conviction like a virtuosic pop singer.
I’d bet that seeing Delicate Steve could drive your friend’s stone cold, permanently drunk, jaded war veteran grandfather to a state of uncontrollable smiling. That is a guarantee.
See for yourself at Musica on July 7th at 8pm. Advance tickets are $8.
Watch the video for the single “Butterfly”. You’ll be glad you did.

They will be joined by one of Akron’s strongest jam/rocknroll bands, Tyrohill. They have been touring incessantly since their album debut back in april, and have earned wonderful press commentary such as:
“The new Tyrohill Cd makes me want to do dirty things” and “Tyrohill is a riot parade of cosmic funk”
check them out at: http://tyrohill.com/
With this stellar combination of musical acts, this show will assuredly be a joyous riot parade of cosmic partying. What?
